B. MARSHAL RESIGNED AFTER BREAK-OUT SEASON
On the Broncos’ opening day of voluntary workouts, the club got one of its defensive starters officially under contract.
Linebacker Brandon Marshall re-signed with Denver on Monday, according to the NFL’s transactions. The 25-year-old Marshall was an exclusive-rights free agent.
Marshall had a breakout 2014 season, recording 113 tackles (91 solo) in 14 games (13 starts) and becoming Denver’s starting weak-side linebacker in the club’s 4-3 scheme. However, he projects inside in the Broncos’ newly installed 3-4 defense under coordinator Wade Phillips.
Should Marshall accrue another season toward free agency in 2015, he would be eligible for restricted free agency next offseason.
